Often compared to the Serengeti for its wide, open vistas, Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s 4th largest park and a vital part of the massive Selous-Niassa ecosystem. The Mkata River floodplain forms the heart of the park, drawing large herds of elephants, buffalos, and zebras, which in turn attract prides of tree climbing lions and packs of elusive African wild dogs. Its accessible location makes it one of the premier destinations for a true wildlife experience in southern Tanzania.
