Nestled at the base of the Eyasi Escarpment on the southwestern border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Eyasi is a wild and remote destination unlike any other in Northern Tanzania. This shallow, endorheic salt lake is not defined by Big Five sightings, but by its incredible cultural significance and rugged, prehistoric beauty. During the dry season, the lake may almost disappear, leaving behind vast, shimmering salt crusts, while the rainy season transforms it into a temporary haven for waterbirds.
